The AD7091R-5BCPZ is an ultra-low power, 8-bit, low-noise, successive approximation Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) with 1.8 V to 5.5 V operation from a single supply.
The AD7091R-5BCPZ is the only multichannel, low-noise, micropower ADC with an integrated reference. It is designed for applications such as industrial process control, instrumentation, medical diagnostics, and strain-gage sensing. Its low power consumption, its no-drift architecture, and its low-noise output are some of its key design elements. The AD7091R-5BCPZ also boasts an exceptional reject rate of up to 1.1 LSB, ensuring an accurate stream of digital output.
The AD7091R-5BCPZ is a ratiometric wall-powered 11-bit successive approximation register (SAR) ADC with SAR conversion and an integrated reference. In ratiometric applications, the AD7091R-5BCPZ provides exceptional reject ratio with its accurate internal reference, which combines both an external reference amplifier and on-chip reference cells. The 5-bit programmable reference amplifier covers a wide range of VREF from 1.2 V to 4.775 V. The 11-bit resolution of the ADC ensures high-accuracy conversion of the incoming analog signals. The AD7091R-5BCPZ also features a wide common-mode rejection range, allowing the accuracy of the ADC to maintain excellent noise-rejection for high-speed operation.
The AD7091R-5BCPZ features a 3-wire serial programming interface that is compatible with SPI, I²C, and MICROWIRE protocols. In addition, the converter also offers a programmable data rate of up to 400 ksps. All four channels of the ADC are configurable and can be operated as either a single-ended or differential input. The AD7091R-5BCPZ also provides a user-selectable low-power Sleep Mode that enables the ADC to reduce its power consumption to just 9 μA.
The AD7091R-5BCPZ is suitable for a wide variety of applications that require precisely regulated high-accuracy measurements such as medical instrumentation, portable instruments, and industrial process control.
