The AD746JR-EBZ is an Evaluation Board Op Amp for low noise, high dynamic range applications. It integrates capability to measure and evaluate performance characteristics for applications such as piezoelectric accelerometers, thermocouples and microphones. This board is based on the AD746J, which is a low noise, offset-corrected, high impedance operational amplifier with an adjustable gain range of 2-20 V/V.

The AD746JR-EBZ Evaluation Board Op Amp comes with a range of features that make it well suited to low noise applications. It has a low bias current of 2.1 nA and a low input-referred noise density of 4.6 nV/Hz. This ensures low noise operation in sensitive, high resolution acceleration and temperature measurement settings. The board also has a very wide dynamic range of up to 75 dB, which ensures the capture of a wide range of inputs. The AD746JR-EBZ Evaluation Board Op Amp has a configurable gain range, which can be adjusted digitally, and its gain is also adjustable by means of an external potentiometer.

The AD746JR-EBZ Evaluation Board Op Amp is self-contained and comes pre-assembled. It is designed to allow quick connection to a wide variety of programs, such as LabView and MATLAB. It is also suitable for evaluating a wide range of analog signals. The AD746JR-EBZ can be used to evaluate signals from piezoelectric accelerometers, thermocouples or microphones.

The internal working principle of the AD746JR-EBZ Board Op Amp is based on the application of the four operational amplifier stages for signal conditioning. The front end has two stages of differential amplifiers with adjustable gain, and the second stage has two 10-ohm resistors for offset trimming. The offset voltage of the first two stages is trimmed both at the factory and digitally. The offsets of the remaining two stages are adjusted at the factory.

The signal feedback path of the AD746JR-EBZ Evaluation Board Op Amp provides high voltage gain and low-ripple output. The stages are regulated by high precision, ultra-low noise regulators, with less than 0.1V variation. Each stage is compensated for temperature variations using a combination of temperature sensors, active cooling as well as precision resistors and capacitors.
