AD7859LASZ is a 12-bit plus sign successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (SAR ADC) which offers an attractive and economical system cost/performance trade-off for a variety of applications. It is the ideal converter for battery powered systems, requiring low power consumption with high resolution and low noise. It is essentially a 12-bit ADC with plus sign and single-cycle conversion time. This ADC does not require an external sample-and-hold circuit to establish a fixed input signal level prior to an analog-to-digital conversion. It has an onboard sample-and-hold capacitor and converts an analog signal with a single-cycle conversion time of 250ns.The AD7859LASZ can be used in a wide range of data acquisition application fields such as table-top SPO2 and ECG systems, industrial control systems, direct digital control processors, automotive, portable instruments, process control systems, home health care, medical instruments and data loggers. The SAR converts the data at a very fast rate, when compared to the analog-to-digital converter.Finally, the result is sent to an output buffer which is used to provide the digital output.
