The AD7994BRUZ-1 is an Analog to Digital (ADC) converter with a wide array of applications in fields ranging from the automotive industry to the aerospace field. It is a low power, low noise, 24bit, swing independent converter with a 4 channels of simultaneous sampling. The AD7994BRUZ-1 offers a range of features designed to be of benefit to different applications. It has a high resolution, ultra low power operation, low noise operation (1uV p-p/channel), precision voltage reference, charge redistribution architecture and a programmable sample rate up to 400 MSPS (mega samples per second). The patented sample and hold circuit eliminates the need for dc blocking capacitors to be used on input signals and provides maximum rejection of input dc offsets, reducing noise and power. The working principle of the AD7994BRUZ-1 includes a 4-channel simultaneous sample and hold (S&H) preamplifier, followed by a low noise charge redistribution successive approximation register (SAR) ADC. The SAR architecture eliminates the need for a track and hold amplifier, ensuring an ultra low power operation with high resolution. The S&H preamplifier captures the input signals and generates hold and sample pulses, while the SAR ADC precisely converts each sample into a digital code at the output data rate. The SAR ADC uses a 4 stage capacitive array to sample the signal and compare against a reference voltage, enabling a resolution of 24bit and low noise operation. The AD7994BRUZ-1 is ideal for a wide range of applications including automotive, industrial, medical and aerospace, providing a reliable and high performance data converter.
