The AD8185ARU-REEL7 is ideal for high-frequency, low-power, low-noise applications including mobile phones, power amplifier switching, high-grade audio switching, GPS and other handheld consumer devices, automotive infotainment systems, and other consumer devices such as digital media players. The two channels can be used together to switch up to three signals, in a 1-to-2 configuration, allowing the user to switch between two separate audio signals, or to bi-directionally switch between two separate devices. The AD8185ARU-REEL7 is also suitable for portable medical test equipment, automotive collision avoidance systems, and other applications where high switching speed, low-power, and low-noise are required. It is also suitable for RF or IF applications where low-loss, low-power and low-noise switching is required.Working Principle
The AD8185ARU-REEL7 works by using a CMOS process to create small size switches with lower power consumption. The switches are an ultraviolet-erasable, dielectric-isolated SPDT analog switch. The switches are configured in a 2-channel configuration, each with a single pole and double throw. These switches have an on-resistance of 0.02 Ω, enabling a significant noise reduction compared to traditional analog switches. The switches also have a low insertion loss of 0.2 dB, resulting in low signal degradation.The on-resistance and noise can be further reduced by applying a positive voltage to the enable input pins. The switches are designed to be reliable and with the dielectric isolation feature, can withstand large electrostatic discharges.
