The AD8436BRQZ-R7 is a precision temperature continuous and corrected RMS-to-DC converter targeted for applications that require a high performance RMS converter combined with a wide dynamic range and accurate measurements across the industrial temperature range.The RMS to DC converters provide a precision DC output which is proportional to the RMS or peak value of the input signal. A typical application field of the AD8436BRQZ-R7 is industrial process, energy measurements including single or three-phase energy meters, power, current and voltage controlled loads and temperature measurement and control system. It works by converting the average levels of the sine wave or any other AC input signal into a meaningful DC voltage. The output voltage is proportional to the RMS value of the input signal and typically it has a 1.4KΩ resistance. The working principle of the AD8436BRQZ-R7 is based on the application of voltage to current transformers, in which the input signal is transformed into a current amount. The voltage-to-current transformers allow current and voltage signals with different phases to be converted into a single, unified output. Furthermore, because the transformers themselves have low output impedances, they provide excellent noise immunity and accuracy.
