The AD9164BBCARL is a high performance, highly integrated Data Acquisition - Digital to Analog Converters (DAC) family which is the industry\'s most comprehensive, offering Analog Devices\' highest resolution, lowest noise, and best signal to noise performance with differential inputs.

The AD9164BBCARL is designed for a variety of applications including ultrasonic imaging, radar systems, medical imaging, automotive testing, high speed data acquisition, wideband signal analysis, and many more. It provides precision 16-bit resolution and utilizes an integrated LVDS serial port for data transfer. The maximum sampling rate of the AD9164BBCARL is 1.6 Gsps and the maximum output current is 5 mA. It supports options for a wide range of input signal conditioning and is capable of driving signals into load impedances of 50 ohms or greater.

The working principle of the AD9164BBCARL is based on a parallel-to-serial converter that converts 16-bit parallel data coming from a host microcontroller into serial data. This data is then interpolated and passed through a cascaded digital-to-analog (D/A) converter which converts the digital signal into analog form. The analog signal is then amplified by the output driver, filtered and coupled to the board output.
