The AD9218BSTZ-RL40 is a high speed, low power and low noise 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) powered by Analog Devices, Inc. It is a member of the single-chip, low-power, data-acquisition family of products, the Reflex-L™. This highly integrated ADC features multiplexed feedback and reference inputs, as well as a dedicated sample rate selectable part-by-part pin. The AD9218BSTZ-RL40 provides users with the necessary features needed to accurately convert a wide range of analog input signals into digital output data.The AD9218BSTZ-RL40 provides an accurate and low-power solution for a wide range of data-acquisition applications such as electrical power systems, motor control, medical diagnostics, and test and measurement. It is designed to enable users to easily generate high-resolution measurements with the lowest power dissipation and least noise.The AD9218BSTZ-RL40 utilizes both a multiplexed feedback and reference input to maximize power efficiency and reduce power dissipation. This is accomplished by eliminating the need for a dedicated reference input and allowing both the reference and feedback inputs to share a single input connection. The AD9218BSTZ-RL40 also features a dedicated sample rate selectable part-by-part pin in order to provide users with the necessary flexibility to produce high-resolution results.The AD9218BSTZ-RL40 operates on a low-voltage, single supply of 3.3 to 5.5 V and features an onboard clock generator with solutions from 190 kHz to 405 MHz. The AD9218BSTZ-RL40 also consists of two cascaded sigma-delta modulators and one sample rate selectable part-by-part pin. The two cascaded modulators provide a wide dynamic range of 74 dB corresponding to a resolution of 16-bits. The AD9218BSTZ-RL40 also has a fast settling time of 2.5 μs with a fast over-sampling rate of 4.5 to 6.5 MSPS.The AD9218BSTZ-RL40 provides great performance and low power dissipation in data acquisition applications. Its low-voltage, single-supply operation combined with the low noise feature allow users to easily generate high-resolution measurements with the lowest power dissipation and least noise.
