Analog Devices\' AD9516-1BCPZ-REEL7 is a low jitter, clock generator that is available in a wide range of frequency ranges. This clock generator is designed to provide an output frequency range of 0.4Hz to 24GHz, with typical oscillator jitter performance of 11ps RMS.
The AD9516-1BCPZ-REEL7 is an extremely versatile clock generator, capable of generating many different types of clock signals. It can alternatively be termed a clock synthesizer, because it is capable of generating a wide range of frequencies on a single output, eliminating the need for multiple outputs for different clock frequencies. Its versatility in frequency sets it apart from other clock generators, making it uniquely tailored for a number of different applications.
Depending on the customer\'s requirements, the AD9516-1BCPZ-REEL7 can be programmed to synthesize virtually any set of frequencies - simple one-tone to complex clock trees - over the output frequency range of 0.4Hz to 24GHz. It is capable of frequency multiplication and division on both the reference clock and the output clock, allowing a user to generate any output frequency they require. Additionally, it can be configured to operate in a variety of different operating modes - including pulse-width modulation, digital delay-locked loop, frequency multiplication, frequency division, ramp/delta-sigma, and frequency-switched - to meet the requirements of different clock trees.
The AD9516-1BCPZ-REEL7 also offers various features designed to provide reliable clock signal performance and propagation. It has eight independent, programmable, low-skew fanouts capable of providing reliable clocking for a wide range of applications. Furthermore, it provides an output jitter performance that is excellent for signal integrity and digital signal conditioning. Additionally, its integrated EEPROM nonvolatile memory allows the user to store up to thirty-two different frequency sets, allowing the device to switch between different frequencies in a matter of milliseconds.
