The AD9544BCPZ is a low-power, low-noise clock generator and jitter cleaner. It contains four separate fully programmable outputs, with resolutions of up to 250 ps rms jitter. The AD9544BCPZ is a low-power device, consuming less than 0.3 W of power at 3.3 V supply and operating in the temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It is suitable for a wide range of applications, such as clocking in video-processing systems, wireless and telecom infrastructure applications, test and measurement, networking equipment, and server systems.
The AD9544BCPZ features a base frequency of 10 MHz, and is able to generate frequencies between 8 kHz and 125 MHz. The bandwidth and output levels of the device can be programmed for optimum performance for any non-integer clock frequency. The outputs can also be configured for multiple clock skew between outputs. Additionally, the device features two reference inputs.
The AD9544BCPZ comprises of two integrated circuits. These are a Low Cycles Jitter Clock Buffer (LCJCB) and a Low Jitter Integer-N PLL (LJINP). The LCJCB provides low jitter clock signal to the LJINP. The input reference signal is passed through the LCJCB and further used by LJINP. The LJINP converting the input reference signal\'s frequency and phase to allow very precise setting of the output frequencies. The output frequencies of the AD9544BCPZ can be programmed through a 3-wire serial interface.
The working principle of the AD9544BCPZ involves a Low Cycle Jitter Clock Buffer (LCJCB) and a Low Jitter Integer-N PLL (LJINP). The LCJCB takes the input reference signal and adds a clock buffer to reduce input reference voltage jitter. This is then passed to the LJINP which operates at 20 MHz. The LJINP converts the input reference signal\'s frequency and phase in order to achieve very precise setting of the output frequencies.
The AD9544BCPZ can be used for a variety of applications including but not limited to: video and audio broadcasting, multimedia, telecom and networking equipment, professional test and measurement equipment, and military applications. It can also be used in applications such as jitter cleaning, frequency synthesis, reference clock distribution and buffering.
