Application Field

AD9574BCPZ-REEL7 is suitable for a variety of applications such as radio and TV tuner, digital video broadcasting (DVB), medical imaging, A/D and D/A conversion, streaming audio and video, imaging, networking, storage and communications. It could be used for creating synchronized pulse waveforms for clock systems, managing synchronous and asynchronous clock rates, buffering and dividing clock signals, and generating and supplying different clock frequencies from a single clock source. Working Principle

The AD9574BCPZ-REEL7 integrates a clock generator and a Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) synthesizer in a single package. The device incorporates an on-chip voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), multiple reference clock/reference signal source inputs, 3 output drivers, loop filter components and programmable dividers. The device is optimized to provide multiple clock frequencies in a very small form factor.

The device takes its reference signal from a crystal oscillator (or an external reference), and the frequency of the VCO is adjusted to match the frequency of the reference signal. The PLL loop locks on to the reference and the output frequency equals the reference times the synthesizer ratio, allowing high precision clock outputs. This enables the device to generate signals with very low jitter, making it suitable for communications, digital signal processing and clocking applications.

The AD9574BCPZ-REEL7\'s 3 output drivers can be configured for either high performance clocks (with up to 153MHz typical output frequency range) or Precision Low Jitter Clock (with up to 40MHz typical output frequency range). The device also provides loop gain programming and wide loop bandwidth programming for best performance and a low current consumption low power standby mode.
