The AD976AR is a high-speed, low-power 13-bit monolithic CMOS voltage-to-digital-converter (VDC) with a built-in reference and automatic offset calibration. The device is packaged in an industry-standard SOT23-5 or SOIC-8. It operates on a single +2.7 V to +5.5 V power supply and features a conversion rate up to 25 MSPS.
The AD976AR is built on a silicon germanium (SiGe) process, which allows the part to achieve high conversion performance with very low power dissipation. This makes the device ideal for a wide range of data acquisition, imaging and communications applications.

Working Principle

The device is also able to handle high input frequencies, making it suitable for high-speed systems.
The converter consists of a pipeline analog-to-digital converter circuit, a high-speed clock generator, and a digital logic circuit that calculates, stores, and encodes the data. The data is converted into a parallel digital code, with the least significant bit located at the output.
