ADG1408YRUZ-REEL is a monolithic CMOS dual 4:1 multiplexer that combines both analog and digital unity gain, offering flexible signal routing and driving capabilities. Its counterparts are the dual 2:1, quad 2:1, and quad 4:1 versions, providing a range of numbers for selection. The ADG1408YRUZ-REEL analog switch is ideal for many applications, including signal routing, data acquisition, multiplexing, clock and signal conditioning and circuit testing.
The ADG1408YRUZ-REEL is similar in operation to analog and digital multiplexers, except that it incorporates two sets, each with 4 inputs and 4 outputs, that are connected in parallel. The switches provide a low-cost, high-flexibility solution for connecting multiple circuits or signals in the same device. The ADG1408YRUZ-REEL offers a wide range of switching speed and is designed to operate at supply voltages between 5V and 18V.
The device consists of two separate multiplexers, one analog and one digital, each consisting of four identical switches. Every switch is individually controllable, enabling variable signal routing and data acquisition. The analog multiplexer is designed to switch arbritary signal levels without the need for level shifting and will tolerate differential input voltages up to 10Vpp. With a propagation delay of only 0.12 us, the digital multiplexer provides fast and reliable data routing.
Each switch in the ADG1408YRUZ-REEL multiplexer is capable of switching up to 10A of operating current. This ensures that the signal is always routed through the full range of the switch without signal distortion or signal loss. An integral diode protects the switch from high input voltages, allowing operation into 600V inputs. Each multiplexer also features a low on-resistance of 0.5 ohm, that eliminates signal crossover and eliminates signal distortion.
The ADG1408YRUZ-REEL uses a CMOS process to reduce power consumption and background noise. The device is designed to operate at temperatures between -40C and 85C with very low power consumption of only 22mW per switch.
