The ADG711BR belongs to the family of interface—analog switch multiplexers and demultiplexers. It acts as a low-cost and bidirectional switch used for connecting and disconnecting between analog and digital signals. The device comprises of two CMOS SPST switches with single-pole and double-throw (SPDT) functionality and high off-state resistance. This device is also managed on an advanced process of CMOS 12 μm technology.
The ADG711BR exhibits excellent on-state resistance of 7.5 Omh, wide supply voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V, and a low operating current of 1.0 mA (typical). This device is configured with a voltage controlled switch, an on-chip dielectric isolation for switching protection, and an on-chip VCC regulator which requires no external components. It also features an on-state input current of 1.8uA (VPIN=0V).
The ADG711BR is designed for addressing the needs of varied control applications such as signal routing in digital still cameras, network interconnects, Load switches, sample-and-hold amplifiers. It finds its use in many industrial and consumer applications by providing a reliable bidirectional connection between its two ports.
The working principle of the ADG711BR is based on the basic operation of analog switches which are used to disconnect and connect signal paths with the switching signal. The device acts as a single-pole, double-throw switch with signal paths on either side of the switch toggled by an input signal. This device has a low-voltage TTL compatible control signal that can be used to activate/deactivate the switch. This switch pin is TTL or CMOS logic compatible and enables the gate to be opened or closed, thereby controlling the signal flow.
The ADG711BR exhibits low characteristic impedances, fast switching speeds (t on/off is 20 nS and off isolation is 45dB), a low thermal resistance, and a low input voltage range of 0.–5V parameters.
The ADG711BR also features a latch enable pin which is used for manually locking and unlocking the switch depending on the needs of the applications. This pin can also be used for operating the device in the voltage range from 0V to VCC. When this pin is enabled, the current will be blocked from the output when the device is disabled.
With its high-performance characteristics and versatility, the ADG711BR is ideal for applications that require an easy-to-use, high-performance analog and digital switching system. Additionally, its low-voltage supply voltage ensures optimal performance in a wide variety of circuits and settings. It also exhibits lower power consumption, low EMI/RFI, and improved system ripple performance.
