ADG725BCPZ is a monolithic CMOS combinational logic device integrated by analogue switches, multiplexers, and demultiplexers. In other words, it is an interface integrated circuit (IC) which is specifically designed to solve the failures in digital and analogue applications.
ADG725BCPZ is basically an Analog Shield Switch (ASS) or Shielded Switch with a maximum on-resistance of only 250ohm and a maximum off-resistance of only 1Kohm. It is basically used to connect two points in both analogue and digital applications. This is basically done by providing high-frequency signal to its Gate pin at the time of controlling switches from open to close state.
It consists of 16 switches and 4 multiplexer/demultiplexer for easy multiplexing of analogue signal. It also supports multiple I/O pin configurations like 4-bit binary, 3-bit binary, 4-bit differential, and dual 2-bit differential depending upon its application. It also supports TTL logic level, three LT logic level options, and has a low leakage switch which prevents unwanted signal from entering during the switching actions.
ADG725BCPZ is used in several application fields like consumer electronics, telecommunications, automotive industry and medical instrumentation etc. It is most commonly used in consumer electronics like Signal routing, LCD TV signal routing, and LCD monitor signal routing. Apart from consumer electronics, it is used in mobile phone industry for keypad scanning, signal routing, signal amplification and signal conditioning.
ADG725BCPZ based circuits are also extensively used in Electronic Point of sales (EPOS) terminals for interfacing with different peripherals. The working principle of ADG725BCPZ mainly involves controlling its Gate pin using TTL logic level pulses. When a certain logic is applied to the Gate pin, the corresponding switch is opened or closed depending upon the logic level. In case of multiplexers/demultiplexers, the appropriate output can be selected by applying the required logic levels to its input pins.
