The ADM1060ARUCS0204 is a miniature, precision, low-cost supervisor with several useful features for electronic systems. With a tiny SOT-23 package, the ADM1060ARUCS0204 offers maximum space savings and minimal current consumption. It features adjustable delay for power-on reset (POR) and power-good (PG) signals, polarity control signals for the POR and PG outputs, an adjustable reset timeout and manual reset input. With wide system reset threshold range of 2.0V to 5.5V and an adjustable POR threshold of 2.0V to 5.5V, the ADM1060ARUCS0204 can work well in applications such as system entry and power control.

Working principle

The ADM1060ARUCS0204 supervisor monitors the partial power supplies in Vcc and operates as a device reset controller, controlling the power reset to ensure an orderly system reset. The supervisor incorporates an adjustable POR (power-on reset) threshold comparator and a POR timer circuit. While Vcc is lower than the adjustable POR threshold, the POR output will remain active and the system will be reset. When Vcc rises to the POR threshold or higher, the output of the POR timer is enabled to hold the POR output active for a period of time determined by the adjustable pot. Once the reset is completed, the output of the POR timer is disabled and the POR output goes inactive.

The ADM1060ARUCS0204 supervisor also has a power-good output that is enabled when the system voltage is above an adjustable voltage threshold. During an arbitrary power down, the POR output will remain control until Vcc drops to the power-on reset threshold, as set by the adjustable potentiometer. The POR output will remain active until the POR timer delay determines the reset process has been completed and sends an inactive signal. Once the delay has elapsed, the power-good output will be enabled.

The manual reset input in the ADM1060ARUCS0204 supervisor is used to provide an assured system reset, and is triggered by a push button or switch. The manual reset input can also be used to control the reset by sensing the power control signals.}
