ADM1186-1ARQZ is a PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) - Supervisors. Working Principle
The ADM1186-1ARQZ utilizes an advanced high performance Supply Voltage Monitor (SVM) and Low-Noise Voltage Comparators (LC) to monitor power supply on-off cycles, current leakage, over-voltage, under-voltage and digital input signals. The SVM monitors the supply voltage and detects any supply voltage irregularities such as over-voltage and under-voltage conditions. The SVM can be assigned a voltage and current threshold level to detect over-voltage and under-voltage conditions, thus protecting the system from damage due to supply voltage irregularities.The LC monitors the current leakage and detects any current leakage irregularities, such as short circuits in the system. The LC can be assigned current thresholds which will detect any current spikes or drops and thus protect the system from damage due to current leakage irregularities. The ADM1186-1ARQZ also includes two digital input signals which can be used to monitor system-wide state changes. The digital input signals can be used to detect system power-down, power-on and power-off states. The ADM1186-1ARQZ also includes a digital output signal which can be used to control off-line power supplies, as well as to alert the system designer of a detected problem. The ADM1186-1ARQZ is designed to run at a low power consumption in order to protect system components from excessive current leakage.Conclusion
