ADM1811-5AKS-REEL Application Field and Working Principle
A PMIC, or Power Management Integrated Circuit, is an integrated circuit that is responsible for managing the power of a device. If the VCC2 voltage is exceeded, then the reset is activated. VCC1 is the lower voltage rail, and is used to detect a brown-out or under-voltage condition. The device also has an adjustable reset threshold voltage. The voltage at which the reset signal is triggered is set by a pair of external resistors, connected to the ADM1811-5AKS-REEL\'s reset pin.
The ADM1811-5AKS-REEL is also equipped with a watchdog timer, to detect system hangs and faulty software and hardware. The timer can be adjusted with an additional pair of external resistors. It can also be disabled, if necessary.
