ADM1815-5AKS-REEL is a supervisor integrated module, developed by ADM’s professional manufacturer for embedded electronic products. It is generally used as a voltage supervisor in the communications and industrial control equipment applications.The ADM1815-5AKS-REEL supports five different output types, active-high, active-low, open-collector, push-pull type and transistor-transistor logic (TTL) type. The voltage supervisor output voltage can be configured by two control pins. Working principleThe ADM1815-5AKS-REEL uses an analog multiplexer, a connected Hall effect latch, a comparator, a programmable voltage reference and two logic gates to provide the voltage monitoring and supervision. The comparator monitors the voltage level of a signal (VIN_SENSE) in relation to a reference voltage (VREF). The signal can either be the limited voltage of a supervising signal, or the signal-ground (SGND). The analog multiplexer is used to select the signal source. If the signal stays below the reference voltage for a user-configurable period of time, a fault signal is generated by the output latch. The programmable voltage reference can be adjusted between +1V and +6V in 0.2V increments. The logic gate is used to override false positives, caused by power supply fluctuations. The ADM1815-5AKS-REEL can also be used as a power supply reset generator by disconnecting the signal source from the comparator and connecting it to the output latch instead. When the power supply voltage drops below the reference voltage, the output latch is reset, and open-collector, push-pull and TTL versions generate a reset signal.Application fieldADM1815-5AKS-REEL is mainly used in embedded electronic products.
