ADM695ARZ-REEL

The ADM695ARZ-REEL is a precision CMOS voltage monitor used in microprocessor and digital systems. This type of supervisory module is capable of providing protection against overvoltage (brownout) and overcurrent conditions. It provides voltage supervisors that monitor the voltage signals from microprocessor and digital systems, ensuring the voltage signal remains within standards.

It offers three independent Supervisory Circuits that can be configured by user-supplied resistors and switches. Each circuit consists of a precision voltage detector with reset capabilities. The maximum voltage of the detector is adjustable from 2.63V to 5.18V. The device features an open drain output for reset signal that is capable of sourcing 10mA when driven low. This supervisor is suitable in low voltage microprocessor applications which require protection against reset faults caused by undervoltages, overvoltage and overcurrent conditions.

The device has various application fields in automated control systems, embedded systems and digital signal processing applications. Additionally, it can be used in microcontroller-based systems, monitoring power rails and integrated circuits. Its applications include computer motherboards, Pentium-based systems, AMD K6-2 systems, S3 Trio3D and other multi-processor systems.

The ADM695ARZ-REEL works on the principle of monitoring applied power supply or input voltage levels and signaling through reset or enable pin. When the reference voltage or regulation level is within the predetermined range, the enable pin is driven high while the reset pin is driven low. As the reference voltage falls or rises beyond a certain predetermined level, the reset pin is driven high while the enable pin is driven low. This supplies reset output which can be used by the system to diagnose the fault and protect the device under monitoring.

The ADM695ARZ-REEL offers various benefits such as a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C, low power dissipation between 0.12 mW and 1.2 mW over the temperature range, high accuracy and low power supply current. It also has a power-on reset (POR) which is enabled when EN# is low and goes high with EN# high. Additionally, this device features an internal current limiting and thermal shutdown for protection against transient and continuous overloads.
