The ADN2530YCPZ-WP is a laser driver application field and working principle PMIC. It is an integrated, high efficiency Pulsed Laser Diode Driver specifically designed to drive high power laser diodes with modern laser diode drive techniques. It integrates many of the common laser diode driver functions that are typically found in external module form factors. This includes the control circuitry, the bias network, the laser modulation, the switch network and the voltage regulator. In addition, the ADN2530YCPZ-WP provides an integrated analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to monitor the laser diode operation.
The ADN2530YCPZ-WP is designed for use in a variety of laser diode applications where the ability to adjust the laser diode bias current and modulation current is beneficial. It is optimized to drive the low resistance laser diodes used in laser barcode scanning systems, laser lighting, medical device testing, and laser range finding systems. The high power laser diode (HPLD) driver also supports higher frequency pulse-width modulation (PWM) modulation which allows the laser current to be dynamically adjusted in order to adjust the light output power accordingly.
The ADN2530YCPZ-WP integrates a number of components and subsystems that are commonly used in laser diode drivers, thus resulting in a lightweight, cost-effective solution for driving a low-noise, high-efficiency laser diode. The ADN2530YCPZ-WP features an integrated compound-type laser diode driver which is designed to enable higher power laser operation. The PWM current-mode laser diode driver is capable of providing up to 10 A output current with an adjustable current from 0.2 to 8.0 A.
The ADN2530YCPZ-WP also includes an integrated voltage regulator and power management unit. The voltage regulator provides a stable output voltage to the laser diode regardless of input voltage fluctuations. This ensures consistent laser diode performance over a wide range of operating conditions. The power management unit provides power sequencing and fault protection for the laser diode. This includes the ability to disable the laser diode when the power is turned off or when an over voltage or over temperature condition is detected.
In addition to the integrated components, the ADN2530YCPZ-WP also includes an integrated laser diode safety processor. This safety processor monitors the laser diode bias, modulation, and thermal conditions in order to ensure proper operation of the laser diode. The safety processor can shut down the laser diode if any of the monitored parameters exceed the specified limits, providing added protection for the laser diode.
The ADN2530YCPZ-WP is designed to be used in a number of laser diode applications.
