It uses a bandgap reference circuit to generate a fixed voltage derived from temperature-independent, highly linear current sources operating in parallel as a reference. The output voltage of the IC is adjusted to the desired value by varying the current flowing through the bandgap reference circuit. The voltage reference precision is based on the design of the bandgap reference and the accuracy of the voltage control of the adjustable current source. The jitter-free, ultra-low noise design of ADR02BUJ-R2 offers improved accuracy, noise immunity and thermal stability. The IC works using a combination of precision voltage reference and adjustable current sink/sources and operates over a wide range of voltages.The ADR02BUJ-R2 features an ultra-low and low-noise input-referred noise of 1.9 microvolts RMS and an excellent PSRR of 90dB at 70kHz. Furthermore, the low power design of the IC enables it to draw less than 35μA of quiescent current. The cutting-edge IC packaging provides excellent thermal performance that helps reduce temperatures and maximize power efficiency.The ADR02BUJ-R2 is well-suited for a variety of applications from motor control to automotive, DC/DC converters, battery monitoring, measurement and instrumentation, lighting control and voltage references. The wide operating voltage range of the device (from 2V to 30V) offers superior compatibility with modern industrial equipment.The device is also designed with trimming capabilities to ensure tight control of the reference voltage. The adjustable current sources make it easy to customize the output voltage over a wide range of settings, to match the required voltage precisely. In addition, the ADR02BUJ-R2 offers reliable over-temperature detection which is critical in some applications such as motor control. The over-temperature feature further helps to boost the accuracy and reliability of the device. To look more closely at the device, take a look at the block diagram of how the circuit works in Figure 1. At the center of the circuit is the reference oscillator that provides the voltage reference. This voltage reference is then applied to the voltage divider, which is connected to the adjustable current sink/source. The adjustable current sink/source provides a fine control of the reference voltage.
