ADS1225IRGVRG4 Application Field and Working Principle
The ADS1225IRGVRG4 is an advanced, high performance, low power, precision analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that provides a solution for data conversion and system interface requirements of mobile and battery-powered systems. It is ideal for applications in digital control systems, data acquisition systems, and portable instrumentation devices. The device offers a high degree of integration, low power consumption, and full protection of the microcontroller and other components from the full range of voltages commonly encountered in transducer applications.The ADS1225IRGVRG4 is a pipeline analog-to-digital converter, consisting of two successive sampling channels: a differential input stage and a successive approximation register (SAR). At the input stage, the differential amplifier provides gain and impedance matching. This stage has an adjustable feedback resistor ratio to allow user-defined gain adjustment. This ratio is ideally suited for use with load cells, force transducers, and strain gauges.The successive approximation register (SAR) is a 14-bit high-speed conversion system. It offers a differential-input architecture with high-speed digital control, allowing high-precision conversion and minimized power consumption. This architecture offers excellent common-mode rejection, allowing the ADS1225IRGVRG4 to faithfully convert sensor signals with a supply voltage ranging from 2.5 to 5.5V.The ADS1225IRGVRG4 provides up to 200 kSPS conversion rate and is automatically synchronized with the clock source. It is packaged in a 20-pin TSSOP package, which is ideal for applications requiring a small footprint and low power consumption.The ADS1225IRGVRG4 differs from other precision ADCs in two meaningful ways. First, it possesses a very high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) that allows it to accurately measure very small signals. Secondly, it features a wide dynamic range, allowing a variety of input signals to be measured without the need to purchase additional devices or use multiple converters.The user interface to the ADS1225IRGVRG4 is simple and straightforward, utilizing a three-wire serial interface. A single-ended clock (SCLK) can run up to 25 MHz, allowing high-speed data transfer. Data can be read from the device in 16, 14, 12, or 10 bit resolution. It also supports two operating modes: free-running (continuous conversion) or single-conversion (one-shot conversion).The ADS1225IRGVRG4 can also be connected to other industry-standard communication buses, such as SPI and I2C.
