Analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) process analog signals into digital signals for use in digital devices. The ADS4126EVM evaluation board helps design engineers evaluate the performance and capabilities of the ADS4126 analog to digital converter (ADC).

The ADS4126 is a low power, high speed, 16-bit, 4-channel, simultaneous sampling, pipeline ADC designed for data acquisition and signal processing applications. The ADC runs at full speed with a single 5-volt supply at up to 1.2 GSPS. Additionally, the device can operate from a wide range range of supplies such as 1.8 V, 2.5 V, and 3.3 V. The 8-Pin Sample Port allows level shifting and AC/DC level selection. It also integrates a Mini Serial Port minimizing test setup time. A parallel data in/out allows for testing at low data rates and can generate test signals. The onboard FPGA allows for a maximum throughput of 16-bit data and helps reduce system designs while maintaining maximum throughput. The high-speed interface is also used to capture the data stream data into the associated on-board DDR4 memory for further analysis. An on-board spectrum analyzer aids in troubleshooting the signal chain and assessing ADC performance.

The evaluation board also includes power supplies for the power amplifiers, reference and ADC circuitry. The board also includes reference buffers, multiple test instruments and a digital control interface.
