Data Acquisition - Analog to Digital Converters (ADC)The ADS7953SDBTR is a high-performance, bi-directional, 24-bit, sigma-delta data acquisition (DAC) device which is designed to interface between an analog signal-source and a digital interface. The device has two analog inputs, one for each direction, each input has two channels assignable as single-ended, track-and-hold (T&H), or differential, with power input and sampling frequency control. The ADS7953SDBTR supports 8-bit, 12-bit and 16-bit signed or unsigned output. The device features an internal 1.2V reference, oversampling, rail-to-rail input and output, and selectable low-power mode.The ADS7953SDBTR has an extended operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, and can be used in a variety of applications such as data logging systems, medical instruments, signal conditioning, signal logging, and industrial instrumentation. This makes it a suitable device for many applications where signal quality, speed, accuracy and long-term stability are important considerations.The ADS7953SDBTR can be used in a variety of signal-processing applications involving digital data acquisition from analog sources such as temperature sensors, pressure transducers, flow meters and other sensors. The device has two inputs, each of which can be configured for single-ended, differential, or T&H with power input and sampling frequency control. The output range is from min to max and the device can provide an 8-bit, 12-bit or 16-bit signed or unsigned output, with maximum conversion speed of 800 kHz for 8-bit, 458 kHz for 12-bit and 292 kHz for 16-bit resolution. The device also supports up to 32-bits of resolution with oversampling.The operating principle of the ADS7953SDBTR is based on a sigma-delta architecture.
