The ADS8344EVM is a evaluation module system for the ADS8344 analog-to-digital converter (ADC). This device provides sixteen engineering grade channels of high precision and low power 16-bit analog-to-digital conversion. The ADS8344EVM system takes the ADS8344 ADC and expands it to provide a comprehensive evaluation platform for evaluating the device’s performance, features, and capabilities. The ADS8344ADC is a low power CMOS-based 8-bit successive approximation ADC. It is capable of conducting simultaneous conversions of multiple low-speed analog signals into digital 16-bit data for further processing. The ADS8344EVM evaluation board includes a 32-pin extended plenum connector for connecting the ADS8344 to external devices. It also includes a programmable configuration register to allow the user to customize the operation of the ADC to fit their application. Lastly, the ADS8344EVM includes anUSB-based control interface to enable communication with a computer for instrument control and data acquisition.
The evaluation board combines software with onboard hardware to give the user the flexibility to program and customize the operation of the ADS8344 device. This 16-bit value is then output from the ADC and directly converted to a resolution of 8-bits.
