ADT7462ZEVB is a high-speed, low-noise, low-power functional timing evaluation board designed to measure the relative timing accuracy of a wide range of AC current waveforms measured at ranges from 0 to 10A up to 500A. It is designed specifically to sample current waveforms up to 500A and return a real-time absolute measurement of RMS current every millisecond. This board is equipped with a 7462 series high-speed RMS-to-DC converter, an FPGA logic analyser and four 16bit high-speed 12bit-accuracy ADC and 128Mb memory for FFT data store/recall.
This board is made up of various components consisting of a 7462 series RMS-to-DC converter, an FPGA logic analyser, a 4-channel 16-bit high-speed 12-bit accuracy ADC, a 128 Mb memory, two terminal blocks, an STP cable and a USB cable. All of the components are designed to work together to provide reliable and accurate measurements.
The 7462 series RMS-to-DC converter is designed to measure and convert AC current waveforms up to 500A to DC using its unique combination of high speed, low-noise and low-power technology. This converter also provides precision timing for both 1Hz and 0.1Hz fluctuations and has variable gain filters to reduce noise and other artifacts.
The FPGA logic analyser is designed for logic analysis of waveforms at up to 700MHz. It can also be used for data acquisition and control of logic levels. It has configuration registers for programming the data path and the logic levels. It also has a configurable number of channels to measure digital waveforms up to 12MHz.
The 4-channel 16-bit high-speed 12-bit accurate ADC is used to measure voltage, current and resistance across the waveforms. This component provides accurate voltage, current and resistance measurements simultaneously, even at higher measuring rates.
The 128 Mb memory is used to store and recall real-time FFT data for waveform examination. This memory has built-in ECC which provides reliability of data-keeping during the execution of test scripts.
The two terminal blocks are used to connect the ADT7462ZEVB board to any external hardware for use in the application. The STP cable is used to connect the board to any external PC and control panel, while the USB cable is used to transfer data to/from the board.
ADT7462ZEVB is used in various applications such as electric motor tests, power system analysis and prototyping (micro-controller design), switchgear measurements, and many more. Its features and components are highly useful for these applications. The ADC can sample waveforms at up to 12MHz, while the FPGA logic analyser can display logic waveforms up to 700MHz.
