Application Field of ADT7467ARQZ-REEL7

ADT7467ARQZ-REEL7 integrates two advanced power stages – A P-type power MOSFET and an N-type power MOSFET – and has two low-subthreshold operation modes: an “Always On” mode and a “Dynamic Load Sharing” mode. This dual-power switch is ideal for power delivery applications in mobile phones, tablets, automotive, lighting and more. It is suitable for high-side and low-side power switch in a single IC solution.The high on-resistance of ADT7467ARQZ-REEL7 helps keep system components at their rated temperature and avoids overtemperature conditions which can reduce system reliability and lifetime of components. The circuit also provides protection against overvoltage and overcurrent with adjustable threshold.In addition, ADT7467ARQZ-REEL7 can be configured to automatically switch between two power supplies with programmable switching thresholds. This helps reduce the amount of power lost in the transition and improves system efficiency.

Working Principle of ADT7467ARQZ-REEL7

The main working principle of ADT7467ARQZ-REEL7 is based on two type of power MOSFETs, one is ‘P-type’ and another is ‘N-type’. The ‘P-type’ power MOSFET can turn ‘ON’ once the VDD voltage supplied to the switch exceed the FET threshold voltage. Once it turned on, VCON and EMP will be successfully connected to the N-type MOSFET and VO to COM will be turned on as well. The N-type MOSFET which is connected to vo from this process serves as an ideal switch for the application. When the voltage supplied to the VDD terminal falls below the threshold level, the P-type MOSFET will turn ‘OFF’ and the N-type MOSFET will be disconnected from vo and VCON. In such a way, ADT7467ARQZ-REEL7 can smoothly switch between two power sources.
