Working Principle of ADUM4473ARIZ

ADUM4473ARIZ consists of a 4-channel digital isolator being composed of an isolator section with four isolator channels connected to a D-Link Section. Each digital isolator channel consists of two EF3300 photocouplers and a pair of EF3300R Ultra-Thin Isolation Amplifier connected to an isolation barrier between input and output. The photocouplers isolate the two electrical circuits, providing two isolated power supplies (one for input and one for output.) An integrated amplifier in the D-Link section amplifies the differential input signals to drive the isolation barrier.

The EF3300 is a photocoupler, which is a combination of an LED (light producing element), and a photo detector, that can be used to transform electrical signals into light. The photo detector then converts the light signal back into an electrical signal. Thus, the electric signals of the input and output sides can be separated, providing isolation protection.
