Encoders

Encoders are devices consisting of special codes which can convert motion and position information into electrical signals that can be input into a controller or a computer. This enables the computer to understand the position or motion of a device relative to a particular location. The AEDT-9140-C00 is an incremental encoder. It is designed to transmit a continuous output signal that changes in proportion to the angular position of its shaft. A differential output ensures that the pulse-width of each side is the same, and the maximum output frequency is 5 kHz.

The AEDT-9140-C00 encoder has a direct connection to a motor shaft. Its compact design allows it to be efficiently placed on both the motor and the application, while its IP67 design guarantees protection from dust, water, and other contaminations. The encoder requires no power to operate and is designed to perform reliably in temperatures ranging from -25°C to +85°C. It is available in either a light or heavy-duty version that can handle a maximum shaft torque of 0.17 and 0.32 Nm, respectively.
