AFE5804EVM is an evaluation module for the AFE5804, a low-noise, small size, low-power ultra-high-speed 8-channel data converter for use in pixel and line scan applications such as industrial, medical, and consumer imaging. The AFE5804EVM board is an easy-to-use, cost-effective, and low-overhead solution for evaluation and prototyping of applications and software before implementing the AFE5804 hardware module in the final design. It features multiple input and output channels, allowing for multiple simultaneous applications.
The application field of the AFE5804EVM covers high-speed ADCs and DACs for line scan and pixel-array applications. These applications include medical imaging, industrial sensing and imaging systems, 3D imaging, and surveillance systems. Furthermore, the AFE5804EVM can be used for image pre-processing in medical, industrial, and surveillance systems, as well as for automatic optical inspection in industrial assembly lines.
The AFE5804EVM has a 16-bit 8-channel dual conversion channel ADC, capable of reading 8 lines of data simultaneously at up to 8 kSPS with a total conversion time of 0.25 μs. The evaluation module has 4 ADC input channels and 4 additional dedicated DAC channels. It also includes a single-phase clock line, providing synchronization for the input channels and the DAC output. The AFE5804EVM features an integrated power management system that supports a wide input voltage range of 1.2V to 3.3V.
