Magnetic Sensors - Switches (Solid State) or reed switches operate on the principle of an electrical circuit closing or opening when an external strong magnet is brought close to a sensing arrangement. The AH180-PG-B-S is a miniaturized industrial-grade magnetic sensor switch configured for surface mount installation and designed to detect range from 0-50mm.This model has a surface mounted package, consisting of a modified plastic box and the switch itself is a reed relay. The reed contact is sealed magnetically to the plastic body and the reed contact is also sealed with an epoxy. The epoxy will protect the reed switch from external contaminants.The AH180-PG-B-S is equipped with an electromagnet that is energized when the switch is triggered. This electromagnet is responsible for triggering a reed switch operating at 12WDC and up to 280mA. There is also a normally open contact that will close when the reed switch is triggered.The typical operating voltage range of the AH180-PG-B-S is 2-7VDC. The sensor can be used in a variety of circuit architectures and is typically used in applications such as door and window contact switches, POS terminals, vending machines, and safety-related applications.The AH180-PG-B-S also has a number of features and benefits that are appealing for industrial needs.
