The AKT100LE is a miniaturized impulse radar technology for non-contact level measurement of liquids. The system has truly universal capability for virtually any in-reactor liquid measurement. It is ideal for applications in hazardous areas or where hazardous gases, vapors or explosive liquids are present. The primary benefit of the AKT100LE over other non-contact liquid level technologies is its high accuracy. The AKT100LE is a miniaturized impulse radar device for level measurement of liquids in open or closed containers.

The device sends out an impulse signal, which is reflected back by the surface of the liquid preferably after being received back by an antenna. The time taken by the impulse to travel a known distance and then be received back is proportional to the distance between the antenna and the liquid surface. This time-of-flight measurement is then converted to a level signal from which the level of the liquid can then be determined. The AKT100LE operates in a frequency field between 5 kilo hertz and 9 kilo hertz and is designed to reduce any cross-talk between two measuring points.

The pulse-compression acoustic echo sounder technology of the AKT100LE works by sending out a low-powered, wideband acoustic pulse that travels through the liquid media. Upon encountering a target, part of the signal is reflected back and received at the transmitter. The system converts the signal to a time-of-flight informative signal, which is then correlated to level measurement. This system provides superior accuracy in a much wider range of conditions than any other non-contact radio-frequency method.

The AKT100LE is equipped with a robust microprocessor which helps in suppressing background noise, maintains an accuracy of ±2mm and also provides an easy-to-read LCD display. This LCD displays level reading and also includes a remote start/stop feature. The Akt100LE also features an adjustable time-of-flight delay, which can be adjusted to suit various liquid temperatures, reflectivities and levels. The system also has self-test capability which monitors the system status at all times and also helps in sorting out any technician errors.
