The AKT4H112205 resides in a family of controllers known as process, temperature controllers. This sophisticated controller is used to regulate various industrial processes such as HVAC, wastewater, water treatment, food processing, and other industrial or residential processes. The AKT4H112205 offers easy access and configurability on the simple LCD screen and its intuitive user interface. This allows the user to adjust, monitor, and control processes without the need for an external personal computer.
The AKT4H112205 has four control loops for regulating temperature, pressure, flow, and level. Each control loop is distinguished by its duty cycling approach: On/Off, Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), Proportional Integral Derivative (PID), and Fuzzy. As the name suggests, On/Off provides the simplest approach by controlling the process either on or off. This is done comparing values from two contacts to establish the process is in the correct state for operation. PWM is used to fine tune the process by adjusting the frequency and duration of the signal sent to the device. This is mainly used when the process needs more precision and/or measurements to be taken. The third approach — PID — is a combination of Proportional, Integral, and Derivative components. This approach helps the system constantly learn how to correct errors. Finally, Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) is used when traditional control theory requires a lot of adjustments. FLC tries to simplify the process and reduce operator intervention. FLC uses rules based on fuzzy logic to adjust the output so that the process is optimized and the desired output achieved.
