Panel meters are electronic equipment generally used to measure voltage, frequency, electric current, resistance, or temperature. The AKW4823 is a typical panel meter accessory suitable for common use. This article will introduce the application field and working principle of the AKW4823.
The application of the AKW4823 is very extensive. For example, it can be used to measure current, power and frequency parameters of DC/AC. In monitoring, testing and laboratory settings, they can also be used to measure thermocouple, resistance, capacitance, inductance, voltage and other physical variables. Other than that, they can also be used to measure electrical parameters, such as the AC voltage due to lightning, the resistivity of a conductor, and the impedance of a transformer. In other words, the AKW4823 is suitable for a wide range of applications.
The working principle of AKW4823 is mainly based on the Hall effect principle. The Hall effect is a physical phenomenon discovered by E. H. Hall in 1879, which takes place when a current-carrying conductor is placed in a magnetic field perpendicular to the current. It is the relationship between the magnetizing force between the conductor and the magnetic field, and the current that is applied to the conductor. The Hall effect principle can be utilized to measure the magnetic field produced by an electrical current; this principle is the building block of the AKW4823.
When an alternating current flows through a conductor, the magnetic field produced around it will cause a corresponding Hall voltage to be generated across the conductor. This voltage is proportional to the strength of the magnetic field, thus allowing the AKW4823 to measure the current flowing through the conductor. The Hall voltage will change with the variation of the magnetic field. Therefore, the AKW4823 is able to measure the magnetic field produced by the alternating current.
In addition, AKW4823 also utilizes a differential amplifier circuit. This circuit contains two amplifiers: the first amplifier amplifies the Hall voltage to a certain level, and the second amplifier amplifies the difference between the amplified Hall voltage and a reference voltage. This amplified difference is then measured by the meter, displaying the current flowing through the conductor.
As can be seen from the above analysis, the AKW4823 is suitable for measuring components whose characteristics are based on the Hall effect principle. It is a very useful panel meter accessory that is suitable for a wide range of applications.
