The contact configuration of the ALZN1F18W is such that the load is connected to the pins on the ‘1’ side, and the control circuit is connected to the pins on the ‘2’ side. The switch is normally open so that the load is disconnected from the control circuit. When the switch is activated, the magnet inside the ALZN1F18W will rapidly produce an arc to create the connection between the pins on the ‘1’ and ‘2’ sides. This will allow current to flow from the pins on the ‘1’ side to the pins on the ‘2’ side, thereby powering the load.
The arc produced by the ALZN1F18W is monitored by the built-in short-circuit monitor, which will open the circuit in the event of an over-current or over-voltage condition.
