Power relays are a type of electrical switch, designed to carry large electrical currents and handle high voltage. The ALZN1F18W is a 3-phase, 4-pin, load-break switch designed for controlling and monitoring high voltage and current applications. The switch is enclosed in an IP-rated polycarbonate housing with an insulated base, making it resistant to dust, moisture and vibration.

The ALZN1F18W uses an internal arc chamber to provide short-circuit protection and monitoring of the applied current. The short-circuit monitor monitors the state of the switch contacts and will automatically open the circuit if an over-current occurs. The contact configuration allows for smooth switching and optimum contact pressure to provide reliable operations in most applications.

The ALZN1F18W is rated for currents up to 2 amperes. The switch is designed to handle resistive loads up to a maximum of 800 volts; however, it can be used on inductive loads rated up to 600 volts. The maximum recommended load is 1.6 kilowatts, with an operating temperature range of -10 to 50° C. The maximum switching frequency is 40 times a second.

The contact configuration of the ALZN1F18W is such that the load is connected to the pins on the ‘1’ side, and the control circuit is connected to the pins on the ‘2’ side. The switch is normally open so that the load is disconnected from the control circuit. When the switch is activated, the magnet inside the ALZN1F18W will rapidly produce an arc to create the connection between the pins on the ‘1’ and ‘2’ sides. This will allow current to flow from the pins on the ‘1’ side to the pins on the ‘2’ side, thereby powering the load.

The arc produced by the ALZN1F18W is monitored by the built-in short-circuit monitor, which will open the circuit in the event of an over-current or over-voltage condition. The switch will also disconnect in the event of a thermal overload, making it suitable for applications such as lighting and HVAC systems.

The ALZN1F18W can be used in a variety of applications, including industrial equipment, drive systems, electronic devices and lighting circuits.
