The AOZ1282DI is a two-channel, synchronized buck converter, and is commonly used as a power management integrated circuit (PMIC). It integrates two identical buck regulators, and an individual enable is provided for each channel. The synchronous output can be set as either single phase, dual phases, or a double-ended configuration.

This dedicated PMIC optimizes the system power requirements by efficiently managing the output voltage with fast switching and tight regulation. It has a wide input voltage range of 6V to 18V and a stable output voltage of 0.78V to 5V. This adjustable range makes it highly adaptive to varying needs and scenarios. The AOZ1282DI also features integrated FETs, operating up to 6A at 9V and supplies an output current of 4A per channel.

The AOZ1282DI operates utilizing voltage mode control, and incorporates an auto-zero mode charge pump loop compensation facilitating quick transient responses of the system. This feature enables the device to properly handle heavy loads while helping reduce output ripple. Its maximum efficiency rating is 93% @ VIN = 9V, VOUT = 3V, IOUT = 3A.

The AOZ1282DI also includes some built-in protection features, such as input under voltage protection, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and thermal shutdown protection. In the case of an output voltage overload or short, the soft-start feature will kick in, limiting the output current to a level assessed by the user. It also includes a power-saving light load mode that provides higher efficiency with a light load of as low as 10% of maximum rated output current.

Given its high efficiency, user friendly configuration, and comprehensive protection features, this PMIC is ideal for portable and desktop computing applications, such as notebook adapters and chargers, point-of-load converters and LCD TVs.
