AOZ3015PI Integrated Circuits (ICs)

The AOZ3015PI is a DC-DC switching regulator with a unique level of integration tailored to the current market needs. It has an adjustable soft-start feature that can be used to reduce inrush current during startup, which can be adjusted by the SS pin voltage. It also features an adjustable over-current limit, adjustable output voltage, an adjustable power good signal and a thermal shutdown protection. The AOZ3015PI also features a unique output current monitoring pin (IDS), which allows monitoring the current of the output without the need of any additional external current sensing.

At the heart of the AOZ3015PI is the Average Current Mode Control. This control method means that the MOSFET will switch on and off at a frequency modulated by a pulse width modulated signal. The control circuitry inside the AOZ3015PI maintains an average DC voltage on the output. By varying the duty cycle of the pulse width modulated signal and the switching frequency, the output voltage can be regulated and adjusted to the desired value.

The AOZ3015PI is designed to be used with an external Schottky diode or a MOSFET with an appropriate drain-to-source resistance. It also requires an input capacitor, an output capacitor and a current sense resistor to complete the design.
