AOZ3111DI is a high performance synchronous buck DC-DC regulator with integrated fast switching Power MOSFETs. It offers a high-efficiency PWM mode to improve power regulation efficiency. Such feature makes AOZ3111DI suitable for use in a wide variety of power applications, ranging from VGA cards to portable computer batteries.

The AOZ3111DI has a 0.5-5V input operating voltage range and operates across an output of 0.8-3.3V while providing output currents up to 3A. The device also exhibits a low dropout voltage (LDO) of 120mV, a logic enable input, a power good output signal and allows the external loop to be adjusted with external resistor. These features allow the user to achieve a high conversion efficiency with features such as remote voltage sensing, tracking, and dynamic output voltage scaling.

The AOZ3111DI utilizes synchronous rectification to enhance efficiency and reduce power dissipation. When operating in PWM mode, the Power MOSFET switches are synchronized to the corresponding frequency clock. During the switch cycle, a pulse signal will be generated and changes its frequency with the change in load current and input voltage. Therefore, the AOZ3111DI follows a strict voltage regulation and reduces current loss during the switch. Also, the duty cycle at the low load condition (light load efficiency) can be adjusted by the external resistor.

In addition to the improved switching efficiency, the AOZ3111DI also offers overload protection, thermal protection and surge protection which further protect the device. The device also has built-in UVLO (Under-Voltage Lock Out) function, which prevents operation below a predetermined voltage or whenever the VIN pin is below 4.5V. The phase compensation loop is adjustable through external resistor and capacitor to improve system stability at the light load conditions and reduce output noise at medium to heavy load.
