Working principle

The AOZ5019QI provides high performance and flexibility in the conversion of electrical power. The device utilizes a synchronous buck DC/DC conversion technique, which uses a switch and an inductor to transfer energy stored in the inductor to the load, thus providing regulation of the output voltage. On the input side, the input voltage is fed to a synchronous rectifier switch, which provides positive-side rectification and current regulation. In continuous conduction mode (R = 0Ω), the current in the inductor will reach a maximum current value as determined by Equation 1. The device will then start to become discontinuous conduction mode once the output current increase beyond the limit set by Equation 1, meaning the current in inductor will cycle between the minimum and maximum current values. A hysteretic current mode control loop with a proprietary ramp compensation is used to guarantee EUP of 85% and a transient lined up under varying bus, load and temperature conditions. Additionally, AOZ5019QI provides dynamic Voltage-Positioning (DVP) for improved transient response and regulated output voltage accuracy. DVPstarts up quickly when the device is enabled, by ramping the output voltage up(cone-up) or down (cone-down) if the output voltage is higher/lower than the final operating voltage.Finally, the AOZ5019QI also comes with integrated protection functions such as over-current protection (OCP), over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage lock-out (UVLO) and thermal shutdown (TSD).
