The AOZ8101CI is a low-capacitance unidirectional Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) designed for high-speed data and signal line protection and is a part of the AOZ8x01C family of unidirectional TVS diodes.

The device is housed in an industry standard 0.4mm pitch DFN package and is rated for 230V working voltage and 200V clamping voltage. The AOZ8101CI has ESD protection up to 8 kV IEC 61000-4-2 for data and signal lines.

The AOZ8101CI has a very low parasitic capacitance of 1.3pF and is well-suited to applications which require high data rates of up to 25 Gbps. The device also offers enhanced thermal performance with low thermal resistance of 0.12°C/W.

Applications of the AOZ8101CI include circuit boards and high-speed communication systems such as HDMI connectors, USB Type-C, DisplayPort, and PCI Express applications. The TVS diode also provides ESD protection against electrical discharges from human bodies directly and through cables.

This is referred to as clamping or clamping action. The AOZ8101CI has a fast response time of <1ns, allowing it to quickly dissipate excess voltage.
