AOZ8809ADI-05 Circuit Protection

AOZ8809ADI-05 is a low capacitance and transient voltage suppressors designed for applications with high ESD susceptibility such as system protection devices meant for communication systems. It is a bi-directional TVS diode optimized for signal integrity applications, with a very low capacitance of 1.2pF.

AOZ8809ADI-05 is designed for uni-polar protection (transient protection) to protect network interfaces sensitive to Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) and other transient over-voltage. It has an ultra-low capacitance level of 1.2pF at 6V, which is calculated from its transition voltage. The ESD protection diodes also provide reliable protection against ESD surges up to 8kV, while also offering a low working voltage of just 5V.

The AOZ8809ADI-05’s working principle is based on the breakdown voltage characteristics of a diode. The series-configured, low capacitance TVS diodes use Reverse Stand-Off Voltage (RSOV) as their basic parameter. The RSOV is the voltage value at which a diode begins to conduct. If the input voltage exceeds this breakdown voltage, the diode begins to conduct and can carry off the excessive voltage to ground.

The AOZ8809ADI-05 is specially designed with a very low capacitance, which makes it a good candidate for protecting high-speed signal lines in bidirectional applications. The diode, when subjected to an over voltage, will clamp the voltage so that it does not exceed its nominal breakdown voltage, providing excellent protection against over-voltage in both directions. The AOZ8809ADI-05 has a maximum reverse leakage current of only 10mA, ensuring minimal distortion, noise and signal transmission loss.
