The AP2311SN-7 is a power distribution switch, load driver and voltage supervisor IC. It is designed for a wide range of applications including microprocessor/microcontroller and memory monitoring, computer system power supply, industrial microcomputer system power supply, notebook computer power supply and other similar applications.The AP2311SN-7 is a power distribution switch and load driver IC with a built-in low-dropout voltage regulator and a 30 mA output current limit. This IC is capable of controlling both the power output current and the voltage. It features a 80 mA output current limit and provides superior overvoltage, overcurrent and reverse current protection.The AP2311SN-7 is built on a CMOS process technology. It can provide high efficiency for power supply applications and also reduce power consumption. In addition, it offers up to 400mA switching current and a low operating current of 10 μA for standby power. The main purpose of this IC is to provide protection to connected circuits from overvoltage, overcurrent, and reverse current protection. This IC is also capable of reducing current consumption in applications with low power requirements.The AP2311SN-7 has an input voltage range of 6 to 18V and an output voltage range of 0.8V to 6V. In addition, it features two types of power saving functions: stand-by and shutdown modes. The standby mode allows the load current to be reduced to a minimum level when the output voltage is above 5.5V. Meanwhile, the shutdown mode disconnects the load from the power source when the output voltage is below 3.5V.The AP2311SN-7 works by driving an external power MOSFET from its on-chip PNP transistor. When enabled by the ENABLE_P pin, the PNP transistor connects the P-GRD pin of the MOSFET to ground and the drain-source of the MOSFET is connected to the regulated output voltage. The AP2311SN-7 also features an on-chip module that combines a low-dropout linear regulator and a load switch with adjustable current limit and thermal protection. This module is used to detect current and voltage excursion in the output voltage rail and to limit the output current if it exceeds a pre-determined level. The thermal protection feature enables the device to shut down itself in case of overtemperature condition.In addition, the AP2311SN-7 also has an adjustable voltage supervisor which monitors a reference voltage of 0.8V to 6V and output a power ok signal when the monitored voltage remains within the expected value.Overall, the AP2311SN-7 is a highly integrated IC that is suitable for a wide range of applications such as microprocessor/ microcontroller and memory monitoring, computer system power supply, industrial microcomputer system power supply, notebook computer power supply and other similar applications.
