AP3605FNTR-E1 is a high-performance LED driver IC developed by ApexMicro Technology. Application Field

AP3605FNTR-E1 is the perfect IC for applications with low current range requirements of more than 10mA. It can hold self-communication for 16-steps output current control and can support 4-channel output current control which allows complex configurations. AP3605FNTR-E1 can also dim a single channel or group of channels synchronously and give rise to a channel-uniform output. Therefore, it is ideal for mobile devices such as digital cameras, smartphones, and tablets. Working Principle

AP3605FNTR-E1 consists of a linear regulator, an adjustable current regulator and a 16-step current-sink driver. The linear regulator uses an error amplifier and comparator to control an external P-channel MOSFET. The output voltage is determined by an external resistor divider across the output and set point pins VCOM and ICOM respectively. The output voltage can be adjusted by a single resistor from 1.5V up to 28V.

The adjustable current regulator consists of a band gap reference voltage generation circuit, an error amplifier and a MOSFET driver for the external N-channel MOSFET. The external resistor connected between RT and VCOM pins determines the average current. In addition, the 16-step current-sink driver can control the PWM current sinks. Each channel is also capable of being dimmed independently or in groups. This 16-step current-sink driver produces a channel-uniform output current, independent of LED voltage or temperature variations.
