APA2107VBC/D is a self-contained, high-efficiency step-up or step-down DC/DC converters that are optimized for driving LEDs in automotive and industrial applications. This series of converters can achieve up to 95% typical efficiency, and feature a broad input voltage range of 2.7V to 28V. APA2107VBC/D converters feature an external enable pin, allowing the user to quickly and easily enable or disable the converter.APA2107VBC/D LED indication discrete applications include: automotive backlighting, industrial parking garages, aircraft floodlighting and amusement parks. They are also suitable for general purpose LED lighting applications.The working principle of the APA2107VBC/D is based on the magnetic amplifier circuit TOPSwitch-HX and primary side control architecture. The magnetic amplifier uses advanced technology to combine high frequency Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control and synchronous rectification for efficient switching. This combination of features ensures that the APA2107VBC/D will deliver high-efficiency LED current control from very low input supply voltages, while still offering wide input voltage range and adjustable current regulation ability.The device’s primary side control requires zero external components. It has an internal start-up circuit which assists with low input voltage conversions. As a result of the topology using a self-oscillating synchronous rectifier, the APA2107VBC/D converter delivers high conversion efficiency in a very compact package.The APA2107VBC/D includes a number of features, such as adjustable power factor correction (PFC), primary current limit, wide input voltage range and temperature protection. Additionally, a low dropout linear regulator (LDO) provides precise regulation of the output voltagethe users do not need any additional components to achieve minimum ripple in the output voltage.The APA2107VBC/D converters also include an external enable pin which allows the user to quickly and easily enable or disable the circuit with low power consumption. The APA2107VBC/D has a low quiescent current of only 30 μA, making it ideal for applications such as car batteries in automobiles.The APA2107VBC/D converters provide a very efficient and reliable solution for a wide variety of automotive and industrial LED Applications. It offers high power efficiency, low power consumption, wide input voltage range and reliable performance. The enable pins and temperature protection feature of the APA2107VBC/D make it suitable for a variety of applications.
