Working Principle of APD260VG-G1
APD260VG-G1 is composed of a PN junction that functions as a diode. This diode passively conducts electricity in only one direction, and resists currents flowing in the opposite direction. The diode also has a forward voltage, which is the lower voltage needed for the device to function properly.
When a direct current voltage is applied, the negative terminal of this possibility will be the anode, and the positive the cathode. Now, as electricity flows through such a PN junction, it will be only able to go through the PN junction if there is more potential differences between the anode and the cathode. This is known as the diode\'s forward voltage.
When the reverse voltage is applied, the anode will become positive, and the cathode negative. This type of configuration will block the current from going through the diode and the only kind of current passing through the diode at this point is called the leakage current. Thus, the device becomes a perfect rectifier, as it can convert ac current into dc current.
