Working PrincipleAt its core, the APX803L20-23SA-7 is a multi-function integrated circuit that contains an analog front-end along with a power-on reset (PoR) circuit to monitor the status of the system’s power supply. The PoR circuit monitors the user-defined reset conditions (low or high voltage levels, turn-on and turn-off times, etc) and generates a logic-high Reset signal in case of power faults. The circuit also includes an integrated +1.8V linear regulator, which is coupled with the PoR circuit to form the contiguous power-on reset system.The APX803L’s core differential voltage-sense amplifier monitors the reset conditions of the system. Upon detecting a power failure, the amplifier conditions the Reset signal based on the user-defined reset thresholds, and transmits it to the internal power-on reset circuitry.
