Solid State relays are intended as switching devices for switching on or off electrical circuits. One of the most common Solid State relay is the AQW414EHAX. It is an optically coupled, high breakdown voltage type, with Zener structure isolation. It is a surface mounted device (SMD) type of solid-state relay, and has a wide variety of applications in both industrial and commercial applications.

The AQW414EHAX is a 4-pin optically coupled relay with an optically isolated output. It is rated for up to 5A, 250VAC, and has a 0-20msec turn on and 0-35msec turn off time. It is a DC Input type, with 12V and 24V DC working voltages, and can be switched on with either a 4-pin DC connector (2-pin for GND and CTL) or an isolated DC input. It features a low power consumption and a wide operating temperature range of -20°C to +70°C, with a high MTTF (Mean Time To Failure) rating. It also has an LED indicator to signal when the relay is energized.

The AQW414EHAX has a wide variety of applications, including motor control, lighting & automation control, industrial process control, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning), alarm systems, and scientific instrumentation.
