The ARD00609 evaluation board from STMicroelectronics is designed to provide designers with a ready-to-use general-purpose, off-line, ac/dc or dc/dc SMPS solution. This evaluation board is a one-stop solution with all the necessary components for testing and evaluating the performance of power switching regulators such as ST’s STM32F2, which integrates a flash MCU and a STEP-Down DC/DC power regulator. It includes an microcontroller and all required components, such as the boost converter, output transformer, diode/thyristor, rectifiers, and support components. This evaluation board is designed to dissipate up to 2W of power for testing and evaluating off-line switching regulators.

The ARD00609 is designed to accept an ac/dc, or dc/dc input voltage and efficiently convert it to the adjustable dc output power. To conduct the power conversion, the board uses a high accuracy monolithic buck regulator incorporating the STM32F2. This device is designed to maximize efficiency and reduce the component count, while still providing accurate power conversion with a wide input voltage range. The board also includes a voltage reference module, which ensures stable operation over a wide range of input frequencies.

The ARD00609 board is designed to work in a wide range of applications, including battery chargers, motor controls, DC/DC converters, computer power supplies, lighting systems, and industrial and automotive systems.
