Optical sensors are commonly used in a variety of applications, ranging from environmental monitoring and automotive sensing to industrial, medical and industrial sensing applications. Among optical sensors, Ambient Light, Infrared (IR) and Ultraviolet (UV) Sensors are of particular interest for their ability to measure light even in dark and occasionally hazardous environments. The AS7000-AA is a high performance active optical sensor designed to detect lights in the ambient environment even in extreme circumstances. The working principle of the AS7000-AA involves two components: an operating amplifier and a phototransistor. In this mode, the ambient light can be sensed up to 20m Lux and the infrared radiation up to 500m Lux. The Autonomous Mode also provides enhanced level of stability even in changing lighting environments.
